Her parents were Lawrence J. and Etta (Medcalf) Rice. Larry Etta moved from Indiana with her parents to Durant, OK, in the late 1920's where she finished high school and obtained a teacher's license from Southeastern Oklahoma State College. She taught high school business classes until she took a job as Chief Clerk and Registrar of Eastern Oklahoma A & M College, Willburton, OK, in the 1950's.
In 1960, she moved to Glendale, CA, to marry Ernest G. Cade, attorney. After Mr. Cade passed away in 1974, she returned to Wilburton, OK, and later moved to Indianapolis to be closer to her sister, Bee Attress McMurtry.
She is survived by nephews, Max G. and Donald L. McMurtry, and William L. Rice; stepson, Thomas Cade.
Her half-brother, Arthur R. Rice and sister, Bee Attress McMurtry, preceded her in death.
