Susannah Brookhart was married to Stanton Prentiss, son of Stanton Prentis and Mary (Fowler) Prentis of Massachusetts. They were married in Woods County, Virginia, on 11/13/1817.

* Daughter Nancy, born ? in Miegs County, Ohio. Nancy married Charles Drury, 5/1/1838 in Rock Island County. She died just 11 months later, probably in childbirth.
* Son Royal, born abt 1824 in Miegs County, Ohio & died 2/19/1867 in Mercer County, Illinois. He is buried in the New Boston Cemetery next to his parents.
* Son Stanton Valentine, born 5/10/1826 in Miegs County, Ohio, and died 3/18/1899 in Mercer County, Illinois. Stanton V. married Hannah Elizabeth Creviston on 5/25/1865. Both are buried in the New Boston Cemetery.
* Daughter Eliza, born abt 1828 in Miegs County, Ohio. Eliza married Cyrus H. Maxfield, 9/14/1851 in Rock Island, County. They moved to New Boston Township in Mercer County where they raised horses and livestock.
* Daughter Sarah "Sally", born 2/18/1833 in Mercer County, Illinois. Sarah married Job E. Willits 6/8/1854. She died 4/21/1857 in Mercer County. Both are buried in the New Boston cemetery.
* There may have been more children of Stanton and Susannah that have not been able to be identified yet.
The family moved several times over the years from Virginia to Ohio to Indiana to Illinois. They moved to New Boston Township in Mercer County, Illinois about 1852, just before Susan's death.
