Linda Ann Lyle Dorsett
September 2, 1958 – January 27, 2010

AVONDALE, Ariz. — Linda Ann Dorsett (Lyle), 51, loving daughter, sister, mother, friend, and soon-to-be grandmother, passed away on Jan. 27, 2010, in Avondale, Ariz.

She is survived by her children: Nicole, Robert and Sarah of Avondale; mother, Kathy, brothers, Terry, Tom, Dennis (Angela) and Donny; sister, Cindy (Dave) of Billings. She also leaves behind her many friends and coworkers whom all enriched her life.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1958, to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lyle in Billings. In high school, she ran track and set school records, graduating from Senior High School in Billings in 1977. She worked for Safeway for 30-plus years, starting as a cashier and working her way up to Night File Manager. She was also the neighborhood babysitter for Westwind Housing Community and helped raise many more kids like they were her own. She never stopped giving of herself, and in the end, she donated her liver, two kidneys, saving the lives of three people, and her heart went to research to change the lives of many others.

She was a miracle worker, raising three children on her own. Linda was always there for her kids whenever they needed her. She never judged — she just listened and offered advice. She always had something cooking in the oven or found a new way to make a recipe better. She was famous for making Stuffed Mushroom, Devil Eggs, Bread Roll Thingy's (Bread rolls with ground beef and potatoes inside) and chicken enchiladas!

Celebration of her life with her friends and coworkers was held at Christ Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Road, Peoria, AZ 85383 on Wednesday, Feb. 3. In addition, a family service will also be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 10:30 a.m., at Cremation & Funeral Gallery at 29 Eighth St. West, Billings, MT 59101. She will be laid to rest next to her father Daniel Lyle at Holy Cross Cemetery 1601 Mullowney Lane, Billings, MT 59101.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to any Bank of America Trust under the name of Sarah Ann Dorsett, her youngest daughter, age 13. Thank you!
