Edward Ellsworth Blair lived his entire life in Harlan and Shelby County, except for the last eight years, two of which were spent in California, and the last six years at Estherville, Iowa.

On Feb. 23, 1919, he married Myrtle Waldo at Harlan. To this union two children were born: Victor Robert Blair of Estherville and Irene Marie, now Mrs. George Michaelson of Monrovia, California. Mrs. Blair passed away in Aug. of 1955.

Mr. Blair has been a member of the Church of Christ in Harlan for many years.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles of Swea City, Iowa; Louis and Fred of Harlan; and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Nelson of Omaha, Nebraska.

He is survived by his son and daughter; four grandchildren: Connie, Mrs. Ronald Hanson, and Gary Blair of Estherville, James Michaelson of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Janet Michaelson of Monrovia, California.

He is also survived by his sister Anna, Mrs. Vernon Custer, of Harlan; his brother, Dr. Alvin Blair of Irwin; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 21, 1967, at Pauley Home for Funerals in Harlan with Bro. Royce R. Reynolds officiating. Casket bearers were: Dale Blair, Lyle Blair, Marvin Blair, Howard Blair, Dr. Gene Blair and Clayton Mitten. Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery.
