Mrs. Torvie, who was born in Starbuck, Minn., died June 2. She was 83.
She graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., in 1936.
Mrs. Torvie was a former state supervisor for the State of Washington Department of Social and Health Services.
She moved to Bloomington several years ago, where she was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church Her husband, Arthur, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Torvie of Bloomington; and a brother, Gerald Peterson of Williston, N.D.
