Son of Johann Jacob Homberger and Maria Katharine Roser.

Husband of Ida Marie Engler, married 1885 in Lake Park, Minnesota.. To this union seven children were born; Mary, John Fredrick, Ida, Katy, Bruno, Dora, and Idella.

Fred Homberger. Dayton

Fred Homberger, 77, a resident of Oregon since 1910 died at his home in the Pleasantdale neighborhood near Dayton early Tuesday morning after several weeks' illness. He was born March 26, 1854 at Baden, Germany and came with his parents to America and located at Fergus Falls, Minn., where he was married October 27, 1884 [1885] to Miss Ida Engler. Seven children were born to them, who with the widow survive. The children are Fred Homberger Jr., of Schoffield, Bruno of Independence, Mrs. Mary Hall of Portland, Mrs. Ida Chatman [Chapman] of McMinnville, Mrs. Katherine Herring of Dundee, Mrs. Dora Jones of Newberg, Mrs. Della Wohlgemuth of Newberg; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Schumaker of Akron, Ohio, also survives. Funeral services will be held at Hollingsworth chapel in Newberg at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Dundee cemetery. The home of Homberger for almost a year was a portion of the Edwards farm in the Pleasantdale vicinity."
