A NATIVE OF OLD DEERFIELD.


Mrs. E. Gertrude Ball, widow of Woodman Pillsbury, die at her home, Walnut street, Agawam, Feb. 12, after a week's serious illness been in poor health for some years. Mrs. Pillsbury was born in Old Deerfield in 1841, where her ancestors had lived for a long time. She was the daughter of Dexter and Clarissa Ball. Forty years ago, she came to West Springfield, where she has lived since.

Her husband, who was a master mechanic, died 11 years ago. She was a member of the Deerfield academy and High school alumnae, a member of the Congregational Church of Mittineague. As she had been in poor health for a number of years; her death came as no surprise, though her final sickness was short. She leaves two sons, Edward W. and Ralph B. one sister, Delia C. Ball of Montague, and one brother, Charles E. Ball of Chicopee Falls.
