Rev. Fletcher Willie Fraysier

GATE CITY , Va. - Rev. Fletcher Willie Fraysier , 73, formerly of Ft. Blackmore, Va., went to be with the Lord Thursday ( March 4, 1999 ) at Holston Valley Medical Center .

Mr. Fraysier served the Lord as an evangelist for several years. He was a P.O.W. in Germany during World War II. He was born in Scott County , Va. on July 17, 1925 , a son of the late Robert Patton and Florence Gillenwater Fraysier .

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Peggy Irene Fraysier ; four sisters; and six brothers.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Stallard Fraysier , Gate City, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Deanna) Brickey, Mrs. Gail (Kathy) McConnell, both of Ft. Blackmore, Va., and Mrs. Buford (Judy) Quillin, Kingsport; one son, Fletcher Ross Fraysier , Kingsport; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Maude Vermillion, Gate City, Va.; one brother, Joe Fraysier , Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Gate City Funeral Home, Gate City , Va. , and other times at the residence.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. George Willis and Bro. Ernie Addington officiating. Music will be provided by the Midway Quartet.

Military graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fraysier Family Cemetery , Ft. Blackmore , Va. , by the Charles DeWitt Byrd Post No. 3382 of the VFW.

Grandchildren and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Clyde Gillenwater, James Thompson, Ray Adams and Junior Gillenwater will serve as honorary pallbearers.
