EDWARD M. BELDEN DIES IN NEW YORK
Was to Have Sailed for Europe on Saturday Last - Body Will Be Brought Here for Burial.

News was received to-day of the death in New York of Edward Mead Belden, son of Mrs. Mead Belden, formerly of this city. Mr. Belden has for several years made his home in New York, living at the Hotel Manhattan. He had planned a trip abroad and was to have sailed last Saturday.
On the day previous he was taken ill and his mother summoned to New York. Some time ago Mr. Belden had suffered from hemorrhages of the stomach and his late illness was of the same nature. The remains will be brought to Syracuse for burial at Oakwood. The funeral will be on Thursday.
Mr. Belden was 40 years old and was born in this city. He was the eldest child of Mead and Gertrude Woolson Belden and a nephew of the late James J. and Cadwell Belden. He was a graduate of Williams College for some time and until a few years ago acted as secretary to his uncle, James J. Belden.
He is survived by his mother and three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Strong White and Mrs. John Wilkinson of this city and Mrs. Henry Wigglesworth of Pelham Manor.

News was received to-day of the death in New York of Edward Mead Belden, son of Mrs. Mead Belden, formerly of this city. Mr. Belden has for several years made his home in New York, living at the Hotel Manhattan. He had planned a trip abroad and was to have sailed last Saturday.
