Funeral service will be held, Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Belew Cemetery.
Mr. Abernathy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Susie Abernathy; brother, R.L. and Homer Abernathy and a step-daughter, Ann Lansdell. He is survived by his wife, Willane B. Abernathy of Elgin; daughter, Shirley Woodis of Central Heights; sons, Kenneth (Dianne) Abernathy of Madison, Jimmie (Joy) Abernathy of Florence and Ronnie (Bonita) Abernathy of Oklahoma; step-sons, Tommy (Becky) Bradford of Killen, Tim Bradford of Elgin, Kenneth (Susie) Bradford of Killen and Terry Bradford of Rogersville; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bennie was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church.
