Red Lodge--Funeral services for Waine Walpo Herronen, 55, a former Billings resident, who was found dead in Las Vegas last week, will be held Friday from the Chapel of the Olcott Funeral Home.

Mr. Herronen was found dead in a Las Vegas hotel room Sunday night. Death was attributed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mr. Herronen was born Sept. 25, 1909, in Red Lodge, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Herronen. He married Vera Kola on Oct. 22, 1931, in New York.

Mr. Herronen was employed by the American Chrome Company in the Nye area in the past 20 years. He formerly worked for the U.S. Forest Service.

Survivors include his widow, Vera, of Billings; a son, Robert Herronen of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Dodderson of Billings; three brothers, John and William Herronen of Southfield, Mich., and Elmer Herronen of Flint, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Werner Mattson of Portland, Ore.; and a step-mother, Mrs. Lydia Karvonen of Red Lodge.
