Baby Dies In Trailer Fire;
Ogden Girl Hit, Killed by Car

By UNITED PRESS
Fire killed an 18-month-old Holladay boy yesterday and a 17-year old Ogden girl was injured fatally when she jumped across a mud puddle into the path of a car.

Travis Joseph Casey, son of Mrs. Patricia Ann Williams, 18, died when flames consumed the trailer house in which his family lived at Holladay. Mrs. Williams said the trailer's oil heater was out of fuel and she turned on an electric heater. She was outside for a moment and found the trailer in flames on her return.

Father Suffered Burns

The mother snatched her child from his bed and rushed to the home of a neighbor. Firemen were unable to revive the baby with a resuscitator. Lawrence Williams, 22, the child's stepfather, arrived home while the fire was still burning and rushed into the trailer thinking the baby was still inside. He was treated for burns.

Linda Lindsay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lindsay, Ogden, was injured fatally when she jumped across a mud puddle into the path of a car. Highway Trooper Marc Birch said the girl had just gotten off a bus near a former home and was crossing the street to see if any mail for her was at the old address. Witnesses said she raised her arms to jump and apparently blocked the car from her view. She was hit by a car driven by James L. Underwood 40, Ogden, and died in a hospital about two hours later.
