MADISON - Lonnie "Pete" Shelton, 67, of 1280 Duggins Road, Madison, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Shelton was born May 30, 1940, in Henry County, Va., to the late James Emery and Molly Morris Shelton. He was retired from N.C. Department of Transportation. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Kay Shelton; and four brothers, Ronald, Elwood, Billy and James (Babay) Shelton. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Linda Sizemore Shelton of the home; son Donald Shelton and wife Sherri; granddaughter Elizabeth Shelton; brother Don Ray Shelton; and sister Marion Bowman, all of Madison. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Wilson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 11, at the funeral home, and all other times at the residence. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
