MELVIN "BUNKY" GUNNELS

Melvin "Bunky" Gunnels, 62, passed away December 21, 2007 at his home in Bowie.
He was born July 12, 1945 in Gorman, TX to Melvin A. and Eula (Carroll) Gunnels.

He grew up in West Texas and received his nickname from his Granny & Granddad, Lillie Alexander & Charles M Gunnels. He spent many summers with them and they referred to him as their "little bunky".
He learned the electrial trade and later obtained his Master's license and operated Gunnels Heating and Air Conditioning Co. He married Jimmie Sharp on June 9, 1967 in Fort Worth. "Bunky" loved to fish, exchange humorous banter and lived his life as though he had never met a stranger.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristi Reed and husband, Daniel, Bowie; son, Coby Gunnels and wife, Sheryl, Chattanooga, TN; former wife, Jimmie Gunnels, Bedford; granddaughter, Morgan Reed, Sunset; sister, Lanita "Neet" Moore and husband, Kenneth, Abilene; best friend of 40 years, Dodd Bowling and wife, Gail, Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin A. Gunnels and Eula Gunnels Rhodes and sister, Carol Collins.
