Jackie H. Beck, age 77 of Brookline, MO, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2007 in Joplin.
Born June 12, 1929 in Cushing, OK, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. Beck and Jewell J. Pruitt Beck and had lived in Brookline the past 27 years. A 1947 graduate of Drumright (Okla.) High School, she graduated from Wesley School of Nursing in Oklahoma City in 1951 and became a registered nurse. She worked in hospital in Oklahoma City, Sulphur, and Tulsa, OK and at Freeman Hospitals in Joplin and St. John’s in Springfield. She worked at nursing homes in Miami, OK, Baxter Springs, KS and Springfield.
Survivors include her sister, Karen E. Dunaway of Carl Junction; a niece, Suzanne Dunaway and daughter Erin; three nephews, Phillip Dunaway, Alan Dunaway and daughters Jaime and Tori, Chris Dunaway, and a long-time friend, Jo Stice.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Private graveside memorial services will be held at Chandler, OK at a later date.
