R. R. Cobbum, for years a resident and business man of Murphysboro, died Tuesday at Ocean Park, California. The body will be brought to Murphysboro for burial. The body is expected to arrive Sunday. He was a director and large stockholder in the State Bank of Murphysboro, and notice of his death came in a wire to Wm. H. Brett, the president of that bank.
Mr. Cobbum was born in Bluffton, Indiana. He came to Murphysboro in the 70s and in 1888 he married Mrs. Mamie Gill, mother of Ex-Lieutenant Joseph B. Gill of Illinois. Mr. Gill is now a resident of San Bernardino, California. Mr. Cobbum has no surviving relatives in Murphysboro, but some nieces and nephews live in Indiana.
