Major League Baseball Player. Born in Washington D.C., he was a right handed pitcher making his debut with the Chicago Cubs on May 22, 1926. For nine seasons, he played with the Chicago Cubs (1926-31), Boston Red Sox (1932-35) and the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1936. He concluded his career with a record of 35 wins, 41 loss, 24 complete games, 3 shutouts, 6 saves, 257 strikeouts and a 4.66 earned run average. He died in St. Louis, Missouri, at age 33.
