Hubert Luranza Conway, 96 of Mountain View died at Stone County Medical Center on April 13, 2007.
He was born April 5, 1911 in Reynolds, Missouri in Shannon County. He was retired from the U.S. Forest Service and was a longtime member of The Church of God.
Survivors include his wife Nellie Conway of Mountain View; four sons, Gary Conway, S.W. Mitchell of Mountain View, Hale Mitchell of Fifty Six and Gene Spriggs of St. Joseph, Missouri. He had fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren whom he was very loved by.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Abbie Conway, four sons; Sloan Mitchell, Harold Mitchell, Ira Lynn Mitchell and Ray Conway; one brother, Arnie Conway and three sisters; Bessie Lanham, Ethyl Gore, and Hazel Shelton.
The visitation was held Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View from 12 – 8 p.m.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Roller Coffman Chapel with Bro. Randy Farthin and Bro. Michael Jernigan officiating and interment in Fifty Six Cemetery, Fifty Six, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Rick Mitchell, David Mitchell, Ben Cartwright, Steve Mitchell, Jesse Marshall and Chris Marshall.
Honorary pallbearers are Takumi Nishichi, Sheriden Watts, Wayne Pinkston, Roger Shelton and Jerry Shelton.
Hubert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
