In 1930, Chandley Appling was living in Fresno, California with his wife Edith and three children (Carroll, Wayne and Marilyn). He worked as an automobile dealer. Chandley fought in WWI and both sons were in WWII. Carroll was a 2nd Lieut in the Air Corps and died September 7, 1942 at age 20; Wayne was a PVT in the AAF and died in March of 1946 at the age of 19.
