Ebenezer was a Colonel in the Continental Army and died from smallpox and exposure while in the service, near Morristown, New Jersey, 2 April 1777 and was buried in the Hill Top church, Mendham, New Jersey.

In a newspaper article written by Ron Smith (morristown, New Jersey) the winter of 1779-1780 was the hardest in anyone's memory and "made the winter at Valley Forge look cozy" A series of 28 blizzards blasted the hills and slopes of Morristown with relentless violence, blocking vital supply roads with six-foot snowdrifts. "The encampment at Morristown in in 177-1780 was one of the Continental Army's severest trials. Held together by Washington's leadership and ability, the army surved a time of discourgement and despair."

Ebenezer Condict married Huldah Byram on March 16, 1762 in Mendham, Morris Co., New Jersey. Huldah Byram is the daughter of Ebenezer and Abigail (Alden) Byram.
