2A, Sentinel-Standard , Monday, September 25, 1989

Danon Lee (Scooter Pierce, 16, of Lyons, died Sept. 23. The son of Darrell and Doris (Nobis) Pierce, ne was born Nov. 11, 1972 in Ionia.

He was president of the junior class of Ionia High School. He played on the varsity football team. He worked at McCord's in Ionia and the Village Restaurant in Muir. He was a member of St. John's Luthearn Cjurch of Ionia. He was active in the student council.

Surviving are his parents, Darrell and Doris Pierce of Lyons; one brother, Lance Corporal David L. Pierce of Okinawa; one sister Diana L. Pierce of Lyons; two aunts and uncles; several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Ionia, the Rev. Theodore Voll officiating.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Paul Carmichael officiating.

Visiting hours will be today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home in Ionia. MJemorial contributions may be given to the family to be used as they wish.
