Sarah Was born 2-25-1842 in Quebec Canada The daughter of Samuel and Mary Shields Matchette upon their Death Sarah and most of her siblings migrated to Wisconsin. Where she met and married Wm Smith Inventor. They Married on 10-24-1866 in Black River Falls WI. They had three boys Frank, Mark and GRC. Story goes they wanted their boys to be well educated and raised them in Tomah WI then moved to La Crescent and lived out their lives.
