Frances Carruth Allison Quin was the daughter of John Carruth (1748-1828) & Elizabeth Cathey Carruth (c. 1752-1818), both of North Carolina. John was an officer in the Revolutionary War.

Frances first married Robert Thomas Allison (1777-1805) in South Carolina on Nov. 24, 1803.

Two children:
• Eliza Allison Treadwell (1804-1848)
• Dr. Robert Alexander Allison, b. SC June 15, 1806; died in Lincoln Co., NC, Mar. 10, 1831, prior to the Hugh Quin family moving to Georgia.

Frances next married Rev. Hugh Quin (1785-1864) in York County, South Carolina, on Aug. 1, 1809. Hugh was a pastor, so the family moved frequently. They lived in Lincoln County, North Carolina, until 1833/34. They moved to Georgia about 1834 then to Mississippi about 1845.

Eight children:
• Dr. Albert Gallatin Quin (1/27/1811-7/31/1882 in GA?)
• Edilda Henry Quin Cliett (1812-1875)
• Emily John Quin Aycock (1814-1882)
• Dr. Langdon Cheves Quin (1816-1850)
• Mary Murray Quin Posey (1818-1846)
• William Staughton Quin (1820-1902)
• Martha Carruth Quin (1822-1823)
• Sarah Anne Quin (1824-1845)

Per "The Family History of Peter Quin" (1922) by Madge Fugler, Hugh Quin and his wife were buried on his plantation, rather than in any cemetery. This book also states that Hugh Langdon Quin inherited the plantation of his grandfather, Rev. Hugh Quin. Does that plantation still stand in Palo Alto, MS, and what is it now called? Has anyone been there?
