Thomas, who resided in Marydel, Delaware, served as a Corporal and radio operator on a B-24 Liberator Bomber, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on January 22, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Railroad Brakemen and also as Married.

Thomas was killed in the "Line Of Duty" as the result of an airplane crash eighteen miles northeast of Grenier Army Airfield, near Nottingham, New Hampshire during the war.

He had served in the Air Corps for one year and ten months at the time of his death.
