LAYTON - Leon George Ray, age 69, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2002 at the University of Utah Hospital.
He was born August 27, 1932 in Layton the son of Parley and Mary Ella Love Ray.
Leon married Karen Child on December 27, 1954 in Ogden.
Leon graduated from Davis High School and Weber College. He was involved in the JC"s for many years.
He was a member of the LDS church.
He was employed by Cream O" Weber Dairy and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1995, most recently employed part-time at the DATC.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time and sharing the fruits of his garden, reading, camping and visiting with friends.
Surviving are his wife, Layton; three daughters, Julie Harmer, Shelly Spencer, Layton; Lori (Mike) Nutter, Clinton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Marie Nalder, Layton; and Afton (Jay) Adams, Kaysville.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Ray (Jack).
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist"s Layton Mortuary,1867 No. Fairfield Road.
Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist"s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
