Funeral services for Curtis Turner, 65, of Salem, will be 2:00 p.m. (EST) Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with burial in LaDonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jim Dykes and Rev. Eugene Stribblan officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. (EST) Tuesday night.
Born, September 7, 1939 to Verna Hill and Issac Barron Turner in Columbus, GA, Mr. Turner passed away April 10, 2005 at his home.
He was a resident of Salem most of his life, a member of Beulah Baptist Church, of the Golden Quarters Club, and was retired from Ampex. Two brothers, Jerry Barron and Roscoe Duey Turner, precede him in death.
Mr. Turner is survived by two sons, Curtis Avery Turner of Cussetta, AL and Michael Anthony Turner and wife Joanna, of Lee, Florida; three grandchildren, Nolee Kay, Camille Marie and Silas James Turner all of Lee, FL; two loving sisters, Ernie Turner White and Nancy Turner Murphy both of Salem; brother, June I. Turner and wife Dian of Salem; eight nieces and four nephews.
