Charlotte Elizabeth Benge, 97, of Allen, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Country Living of Hillsdale.

She was born June 16, 1913, in Camden to George D. and Ilah M. (Swick) Benge. She graduated from Perry High School in 1931 and earned a master's degree in education from Michigan State University.

Charlotte was a teacher in the Bath and Lansing public school systems and enjoyed antiques and geography.

She was a member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Teachers in Hillsdale and Lansing, and a member of the Historical Societies of Hillsdale, Lenawee and Branch Counties.

She is survived by her sister, Dalice S. Benge of Allen and several cousins.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at the George White Funeral Home, Quincy with the Rev. Craig Pahl officiating. Interment will follow in Allen Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
Memorials are suggested to the Hillsdale Community Foundation or the Allen United Methodist Church.
