Hamilton Rites This Afternoon

This afternoon at 3 funeral services for Eustace G. Hamilton, 54, of 414 Walnut St., Decatur, are to be conducted at the Central Methodist Church by the Rev. Wallace W. Lovett and the Rev. Otis Kirby.

The deceased, who had been a state pardon and parole supervisor for a number of years, died Friday at 8:40 a. m. at University Hospital, Birmingham, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage in his Birmingham office Thursday about 12:30 p.m.

The body is to lie in state at the church from two until time for the service with interment in Oakview Memorial Cemetery [later moved to Roselawn], to be directed by Brown Funeral Co.

He taught for 20 years at Priceville School and was later manager of the Firestone Store in Decatur. Mr. Hamilton served in the State Legislature as a representative from Morgan County during the term of Gov. Frank Dixon.

Before going to the Birmingham office about three years ago he was in the Gadsden and Huntsville offices of the State Pardon and Parole system.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elnora Hamilton; one daughter, Mrs. Marshall Walker, Huntsville; one son, Lt. Allen Hamilton, United States Air Force; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Evers, Mrs. W. B. Welch, Jr., Memphis, Mrs. Karl Link, Decatur; three brothers, Tom Hamilton, Decatur, Eldred Hamilton, Luverne, Gaston Hamilton, Mobile; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Lile, Harris McClellan, W. V. Wright, Paul Collier, Rufus Warren, O. L. Napps, M. H. Broom and Roy Odom.
