Chester "Chicken Little Man" Cook, 86, of Monticello, formerly of Greeneville, Tenn., died Thursday at his home.
Mr. Cook was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church
and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Andrew Johnson Post
#1990, both in Greeneville.
He was a native of White Rock,N.C. He moved to Monticello in 1989 from North Palm' Beach, where he had lived since 1959.
Mr. Cook was a heavy equipment operator for 40 years in the paving construction industry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended VFW meetings in Monticello.
The spokesperson said that Mr.Cook was known around Monticello as the "man with the cocker spaniels" who gave them a ride around town every morning and also as the man who called all the women "Chicken Little."
