Mrs. Betty Mock Hilton Briles, 70, of Broken Oak Road died Feb. 9, 2001, at 3 p.m. in Community General Hospital.
She was born June 15, 1930, in Forsyth County, daughter of the late Virgil M. Hilton and Mabel Westmoreland Hilton. She was a homemaker and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class at the church. She was married Dec. 19, 1953, to Marion S. Briles, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are her stepmother, Nova Hilton of Thomasville; three sons, David N. Briles and his wife, Carolyn, of Monroe, Ga., Joseph A. Briles and his wife, Patty, of Smithfield, N.C., and Jonathan H. Briles and his wife, Sherry, of Thomasville; one brother, Melvin Hilton of Nashville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Michael Briles, Megan Briles, Stephanie Briles and Beth Briles.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Zion United Church of Christ with Dr. Joe D. Coltrane officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville from 7-9 tonight and other times at the home of her stepmother, Mrs. Nova Hilton, 7043 Midway School Road, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.
