Elizabeth Small Mosier was born in 1868 and died in 1894. She was the first wife of Henry James Mosier and the mother of Henry James Walter Mosier and William Andrew Josiah Mosier. She also had two daughters that died at a young age. Maggie Lou was two years old when she fell into the wash pot fire. Burdit D. was three when she died of heart failure. According to information given by William Andrew to his daughter Elizabeth Mosier Knight of Lancaster, SC, his mother Elizabeth Small Mosier was ill with heart disease and died in the spring of 1894. He was sent to the field where his father was doing spring plowing to summon him to come home when his mother was dying. William was only 5 1/2 at the time. Elizabeth is buried next to Henry James Mosier at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in an unmarked grave.

Elizabeth was the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Caroline Tomberlin. At first I though she was the daughter of Samuel's first wife but I have strong DNA matches to the Tomberlins.
