MARY ELIZABETH WARFEL

Mary Elizabeth Warfel, 86, died Tuesday at the Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center in Anderson.

Born Sept. 13, 1907, in Alexandria, she was the daughter of John Henry and Emma Haas Gunst.

She married Lloyd Warfel Jan. 1, 1925. He died Sept. 27, 1971.

She had been employed at Delco Remy, the United States Post Office, Glass Factory, Anderson Eagles and retired from Martz Grocery in Elwood.

She, her husband and son played in a dance band for many years in the Elwood/Atlanta area.

She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary of Elwood.

Survivors include one sister, Margaret Himes of Elwood; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald A. Warfel, who died Oct. 11, 1952.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dunnichay Funeral Home. The Rev. Duane Stidham will officiate. Burial will be in the Elwood City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Friday.
