Maria was born in Oberbergen, the neighbour village of Schelingen, but lived in Schelingen from 1828 to 1855 with her husband Theodore. Alt Brusach = Alt-Breisach, the seat of the county (Amtsbezirk) Alt-Breisach, today simply Breisach, was so called between 1870 and 1918 as at that time Neu-Breisach (Neuf Brisach, today France) belonged to Germany. contributed by Klaus Isele
