On 4-6-2013, I was going through some old papers that belonged to my grandpa, James William Metcalf & found a small folded paper in the family (Simpson) Bible, printed "1847". On it was William "Buck's" wedding date Sept, 4, 1883. Also was the birth dates of children, Deb, Martha, James, & "Lue Emma Metcalf was borned in September the 13,1893" This is all written with a "dip" pen in beautiful hand writing. Below Lue Emma's birth, in pencil, was her death "Aug 24 day, 1894" I recognized this as my grandpa Jim's handwriting. Through all the years, me being 69, I, brothers, & cousins had never heard Emma mentioned. I can find no official records of her except this piece of paper which could possibly be Buck or Malinda's handwriting & in her brother, James William's obit, it lists "three sisters preceded him in death, Deborah, Martha & Lumina".
