He was the son of William Butler & Melinda, Simpson, Metcalf, who both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Lillie Strong who also preceded him in death. He is survived by three children, Carlos Metcalf, McKee, Ky; Oma Vasko, Silverhill, Ala; & Robert Metcalf, Bethel, Oh. Also three children deceased. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by three sisters , Martha Brumback, Debbie Ward & Loumina Metcalf. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 15, 1980 at 2:30 PM at the Lakes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Roger Williams & Rev Richard Harris officiating with burial at the Tyner West Cemetery, Tyner, Ky
