BRUNNER, JOSEPH - Joseph Brunner, Sr. died January 15, 2007 in Buckhannon, WV. Born in Port Chester, NY July 6 1932. Son of Joseph F Brunner and Gertrude (Allen) Brunner. Joe served in the US Navy for 26 years. He saw action in Korea, Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam. During which time he was awarded numerous medals and valor. Joe was assigned to the Presidential Yacht Sequoia for six years. He retired from the Navy on December 1, 1976. Joe served in the dignitary protective division of the secret service for 20 years until his retirement in 1997. Joe was predeceased by his wife Ellen (Helen) Brunner, sister, Joan Kinnamon. He is survived by his son Joseph Allen Brunner, Jr. of Dumfries Virginia, daughter Joan Marie Brunner Stewart, sister, Patricia Brunner Caddell of Charlotte NC, loving friends Rod and Helene Martin and Shelly Kirch, and his faithful companion Rufus. Several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will be receiving friends from 4-8PM on Saturday, January 20, 2007 and 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, VA 22191. The Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, January 22, 2007 at the funeral home. The interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
