Madison J. Riley, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home, 504 East 14th Street, University Place. He was 83 years old and besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. L. Ward of University Place and Mrs. Ralph D. Currier of North Loup, Nebraska. Two children, an infant daughter and Walter M. Riley who died while serving with Company F, Nebraska Infantry, in the Philippines, preceded their father.
Mr. Riley was a veteran of the Civil War, serving as a sergeant of Company E, 34th Indiana Infantry. He was adjutant of the University Place G.A.R. post at University Place.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p..m. Thursday from the home. Rev. J. M. Bothwell of Ord will officiate. Burial will be in Wyuka.
