*****Reference to Randall's father at Petersburg, Va. in July 1865 is in error. Maybe typo for 1864. Siege of Petersburg, Va. ended April 2, 1865 and all Confederate land forces had surrendered by June 1865. ****

First marriage: Nettie Chapman, on Jan. 28, 1872, in Harpersfield, Ashtabula county, OH.
Second marriage: Margaret M. Bowers, on May 31, 1887, in Nebraska.

Randall was a Civil War veteran. He enlisted as a musician at the age of 15, on Mar. 1, 1864, in Co. C, 60th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was mustered out with the company on July 28, 1865. He also briefly served in Co. 116, 2nd Battalion Veteran Reserve Corps, and was discharged on Aug. 5, 1865. His father also enlisted on Mar. 15, 1864, in Co. C, 60th OVI, and served as a private. He was listed as sick in hospital on July 1, 1864. He was also reported to be slightly wounded and running from the rebels on Jul 15, 1865, during the Siege of Petersburg, VA.
