Chico Record (Chico, California) 10 Nov 1936, Tuesday Page 1 (continued): Belonged To Lodges – As a member of the department and in his later capacities of constable and undersheriff, Mr. Lafever had the reputation of being a thorough and competent officer.
He was a member of the local lodge of Odd Fellows, Woodmen of the World, Silver Oak Circle, Neighbors of Woodcraft, Chico Aerie of Eagles, and Veteran Fireman's Association.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Belle Lafever; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Lafever of Chico; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Shore of Eureka; and a brother, Fred Lafever of Trinity County. Following the services today, burial will take place in the family plot in Chico Cemetery.
