Rites Today For Retired City Employee

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Osborn Funeral Home Chapel for William Tilman "Dick" Gamblin Jr., 75, of 3400 Lillian St., lifelong local resident and retired employee of the Shreveport Department of Public Works.

A native of Spring Ridge, he died in Midway Manor Nursing Home at 7 a.m. Tuesday after a lengthy illness. He was a member of a pioneer family in this area.

The Rev. William O'Hanlon, pastor of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery with American Legion rites conducted at the graveside.

A past state commander of the Forty and Eight Club, Mr. Gamblin was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Shreveport Masonic Lodge No. 10, Caddo Masonic Lodge No. 179, and the Mithra Grotto.

Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Suellen Wright of Shreveport; two sons, William T. Gamblin III, also of Shreveport, and Charles C. Gamblin of Houston, Tex.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Malcolm E. Kaffie, L. S. Hooper, Percy A. Shipp, Henry S. Weisman, Dr. L. W. Gorton and E. Guy Gibson.
