KENTON - Services for James Sutherland, 72, who died at the home of his son, Edward Sutherland of Indianapolis, Ind., Monday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Schindewolf-Steiner-Stevens Funeral Home. Rev. Homer J. Knauff will officiate and burial will be in Norman Cemetery.
He was born in Hardin County on Aug. 14, 1884, and was a member of the Lucas Lutheran Church in Toledo, where he resided for some time.
He is survived by four sons, Edward, at whose home he died; Herbert of Orlando, Fla.; Harry of the U.S. Navy stationed on Midway Island, and James of Toledo; two step-sons, Claude Hosack of Kenton and Stewart Hosack of Toledo; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Sly of Evansville, Ind.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Imogene Redlinger of New Mexico and Mrs. Dana Postel of Marion; four brothers, Alex of Toledo; Neville of Alger; Charles of Marion and Dan of South Bend, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Cooledge of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Effie Smith of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Vivian Chalfin of McGuffey; 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
