AUBURN — Alan D. Libby, 47, a resident of Maple Lane in Livermore, died unexpectedly, Saturday, Sept. 11, in Auburn, doing what he loved, riding his bicycle training for "The Dempsey Challenge."
He was born May 24, 1963, in Farmington, the son of Annette (Decker) Libby. He was a graduate of Mt. Blue High School in Farmington. He continued his education through CMVTI in Auburn receiving his boiler operator's license. On Dec. 18, 1992 in Jay, he married his best friend and soul-mate, Renda J. Kennedy. They made their home and raised their family in Livermore.
Alan enjoyed working for Verso Paper Mill in Jay as an operator on No. 5 paper machine. He also served on the V.P.P. special committee for safety.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Renda J. Libby of Livermore; two sons, Matthew A. White of Livermore Falls and Brad K. Timberlake of Jay; his daughter, Jennifer J. Timberlake of Jay; brothers, Cecil Libby and his wife, Joline, of Wilton, Roscoe Libby and his wife, Marilee, of Strong and John Libby and his partner, Lorraine, of Farmington; his sister, Mavis Libby of Augusta; and his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Hazel Kennedy of Livermore.
He was predeceased by his mother, Annette Libby; and a brother, Eric James Libby.
Interment will be at Hillman Cemetery, Maple Lane Road, Livermore. (Sun Journal 9/14/2010)
