"Bert" (Albert) first married Nancy Hawes on February 8, 1904. They had no children.
(Nancy had been previously married to Albert Haws [her 1st cousin] several children were born to them; they had divorced when Nancy met Bert. [Nancy was also several years older than Bert])

Bert's second marriage was to Matilda Maud Davis (Lay, Curry, McDougall) on January 7, 1912 at Vernal, Uintah, Utah.
(One of Matilda Maud's other husbands was Elzy Lay, who had ridden with Butch Cassidy)

Bert and Matilda had one son, Albert Benton Atwood Jr. in 1912.

"Old Basin Resident is Suddenly Called":
Duchesne, February 23:
A. B. Atwood of Hanna, early basin resident, died of pneumonia Saturday evening at Vernal.
Mr. Atwood was stricen with influenza about two weeks ago which developed into pneumonia.
Saturday his wife removed him to Vernal, their former home, for medical aid but he died suddenly shortly after arrival there.
Interment took place in the Vernal Cemetery Monday.
