The former owner of Yick Lung Company, of crack seed and snack food fame. Peter was born to Sheong Yee and Kam Tai Leong in Honolulu on July 7, 1922, the ninth child in a family of eleven.

Peter started his schooling at Royal Elementary School, moving on to Central Intermediate School, and then on to McKinley High School where he graduated in 1941. During World War II Peter worked as a draftsman at Pearl Harbor. Then in 1950, he and older brother Fred bought the family business of Yick Lung from his siblings. Under his management, the company soared in the sixties and seventies through promotions with Checkers and Pogo, the Brothers Cazimero (the Cracked Seed album), and Captain Honolulu, just to name a few. During that time, Peter was known as Mr. Cracked Seed. Peter and Fred took the company to its legendary heights, becoming a household name in all the islands.

On August 12, 1950, Peter married Geraldine Chang. Together they had four children: Sterling, Beverly, Malcolm, and Marvin. In 1957 they bought their first home in Pauoa Valley. Then in 1968, they moved the family to Makiki Heights. A man of many talents, Peter was a natural musician, an athlete, a family man, and an active member of the community. Peter was self-taught on the piano, guitar, ukulele, saxophone, and the clarinet. Many happy hours were spent entertaining the family with music and song. He was an active member of the Lion's Club and the Chinese Chamber. Geraldine succumbed to cancer and passed away in 1980.
In 1982, Peter married Delphine Lee. To mark a new start in life, in 1983, they moved to Southern California and bought a home in Fountain Valley. Having recently retired from a long working career, Peter spent time with his two sons Malcolm and Marvin who lived nearby. Peter and Delphine loved to play golf and take trips and cruises to Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. Peter relished his role as "Goong Goong." He cared for his grandchildren after school and during holidays and looked forward to the opportunities to take them on excursions. Peter was blessed with five grandchildren: Brandon, Trevor, Meagan, Jessica, and Lauren Yee. Today, all five grandchildren are attending or have recently graduated from college, something Peter would have been very proud.

Peter was a very happy person, always seeing the glass as half full. He was particularly happy when surrounded by his grandchildren. Everything he did was with the intention of providing a better future for his family. In the last few years of his life, Peter was afflicted by Alheizmer's, a disease that ultimately took him from us.

Peter is survived by his wife Delphine, son Sterling (Joy), daughter Beverly (Chuck) Reindollar, son Malcolm (Lorinne), and son Marvin.
