Leonhart was the son of Eva (Seibert) and Jacob Winter. His first wife was Eva Elizabeth Steinert whom he married in Russia in 1882. Eva was born at Tscherbakovka Jan. 7, 1861 and died there in 1894.

Leonhart's second wife was Catherine Kuxhaus who was born Sept 6, 1858 at Tscherbakovka. They married in 1894 in Russia. She died at Weatherford, Custer County, Oklahoma June 9, 1922.

Leonhart's third wife was Katherine Elizabeth Schneider whom he married Jan. 21, 1923. She was born Nov. 9, 1859 at Erlenbach, Kamyshin District, Saratov, Russia. She died Feb. 26, 1927 at Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma.

Mr. Winter was born in Russia. He came to the United States and first located near Hitchcock. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Matilda WINTER: two daughters, Mrs. Mary Sauer of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Newt Nelson of Providence, Rhode Island: two sons, John L. Winter of Hitchcock, and George Winter of Weatherford: one brother, Gottfried Winter of Colorado. Internment was in the Bierig cemetery.
