Born March 17, 1859 at Horse Pen Cove, Virginia, he was a son of Sam and Nannie Stinson Bowman.
In addition to his wife, Victoria Dickson Bowman, he is survived by the following children; Nannie Catherine Keesling, Jesse Newton (Luda) Bowman, Joseph G.(Carrie) Bowman, Sam Bowman, William A. Bowman, Nell Stone, and Robert James (Beulah) Bowman.
Burial was May 13, 1950 in Monte Vista Cemetery, Green Valley.
