Walter Carswell (58660515)

Suggested edit: Walter was married to Annie Belle Lamprey in the 1900 Census which is dated 02 June 1900.

Walter and Anna Belle Lamprey married 29 November 1888 at Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.

Then divorced 04 June 1900 at Hillsborough County, New Hampshire

Walter and Annie had three children:
1. Ralph Clinton Carswell (1891-1954)
2. Howard Lamprey Carswell (1893-1961)
3. Helen G. (Carswell) (Gerrish) Hammond (1895-1972)

The divorce was granted to Annie; ground of Extreme Cruelty.

Something bad must have happened between Walter and Annie or the families because when he died, he died Intestate and none of his children are mentioned in the Probate Record, in fact it states that his only living relatives were his sister (Petitioner, Ida), Uriah Carswell, his father, and Ernest Carswell, his only brother. His sister, Ida was granted Administration Papers over his estate. I wonder though how much that could have been as he is listed as an Inmate at the Grasmere County Farm where he had been only two days before dying.

The "Ida" that you see in the 1900 is actually Walter's sister. She is Ida Florence (Carswell) Wyman (1869-1947) There is a Memorial for her but it is incorrect as to the name. See Memorial #117520125

Florence E. Carswell is actually the granddaughter of Uriah and Hannah Elizabeth (Heath) Carswell and the daughter of Ernest Grant and Bessie A. (Bixby) Carswell. She would be Walter's niece as Ernest is Walter's brother. Florence is Florence E. (Carswell) Robinson (1890-1974) Memorial #179021250.

Annie Belle (Lamprey) (Carswell) Kenyon, wife of Walter has Memorial #190108166. She married again to Frank Kenyon 06 May 1922 at Hopkinton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Her gravestone has her last name as Carswell.
