Nancy left County Tyrone, Ireland about 1829 with her parents and immigrated to Canada. In 1832, when Nancy was 15, the family moved to Carbondale, Pennsylvania. She lived there with her parents for nine years until she moved to Honesdale and married Thomas Robinson, gauger of canal boats, about 1845.
Thomas died in 1884 and in 1900, Nancy was living with her son Thomas, the oldest of her three children, on Ridge St in Honesdale. The house was on a hill located roughly behind the present-day Wayne County Historical Society building. The family attended the Methodist-Episcopal Church (built 1872) on Church St.
Nancy passed away on Monday afternoon, May 2, 1904 at the age of 86 years, 6 months.
