"Lindsey Bowman, 46, 2308 Prospect avenue, was pronounced dead at a local hospital Sunday night where he was taken in Rupp's ambulance. Police and fire department officials aided in attempts to get Mr. Bowman to the hospital after he became ill at the family home.
Mr. Bowman was a native of King City, Mo., but had spent most of his life here. He was a construction worker and was a Jehovah's Witness.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elsie Bowman of the home; four sons, Arthur Lee Bowman and Lindsey Harold Bowman of St Joseph and Danny Bowman and Arthur Bowman of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy McGinnis of St Joseph; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Mace of St Joseph; a brother, Harold William Bowman of St Joseph; a sister, Mrs. Lula Flanagan of Los Angeles, Calif.; a half-sister, Mrs. Phillip Piantanida of Westfield, Calif.; and seven grandchildren."
