Pvt. Winfield Scott Norris, 213th Aero Squadron, survived the torpedoing & sinking of the troopship "Tuscania" on 5 February 1918 in the North Channel between Scotland & Ireland by German submarine UB-77.

He returned from World War I aboard the "Louisville" in May 1919 as a private 1st class in the 213th Aero Squadron.

On both voyages, he listed his father, James N. Norris, West Washington Market, New York NY, as his next-of-kin.
